Word on the BLOCK: 30th August 2020

Hello everybody and welcome to the latest Blocknet newsletter! This newsletter is released twice per month to keep the community up-to-date on what is happening with Blocknet. You can view all previous newsletters here.

  • We have begun closed beta testing on the Litewallet UI as we continue to finish development. You can check out preview screens of the litewallet here.
  • Automation for our blockchain configuration system has been improved. When combined with the automated “snode environment build-out tool”, users can now easily set up an environment and have automation configuration end to end. LTC and BTC config file examples can be seen here. Base config’s for the rest of the assets are currently being worked on.
  • Automation for Service Node environments is also being developed using a custom Docker Compose to setup configured and connected wallet daemons.
  • Block DX was featured in a number of articles across a wide range of sites including Hackernoon Techbullion, Bitcoin Insider, Maxbit, Coindoo and Cryptopotato thanks to community member @balena.
  • The Capital also published the Blocknet Essentials article. Check it out here. Blocknet has its own dedicated page on the site so be sure to follow our page here as more articles are likely to be published on the site in the future.
  • If you see an area of the project where you think you can contribute, please reach out on Discord to see how you can get involved! There’s a lot going on in Blocknet and we need all the help we can get. If you don’t have any technical skills, you can still help out with discussing Blocknet on social sites like Twitter, 4chan, Medium, Facebook, and Reddit. This is the best way to extend our community reach to bring more people into the project.
  • The results of Superblock 1598400 can be seen below. To understand how a proposal passes, check out the passing criteria.

Closing Statement (Goodbye!)

Many thanks for reading. We hope that you are as excited as us with what the future holds for Blocknet. A decentralization project fundamentally requires an engaged community, and so if you would like to help with anything, have something to add, use your professional skills or have a problem, we want to know about it.

Please also be aware that a community project is run by a diverse group of people with varying time-constraints (in a number of time-zones) and personal lives, so remember to be kind and patient!

If you want to be the first to see these updates, you can receive the newsletters directly to your email by subscribing here. Our next update is due on September 15th. Until then we look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

The Blocknet Team.
